With the Olympics craze taking full force workplaces should consider if they have the technological capabilities to handle employees viewing the Olympics online. Olympic fans can for the first time ever can access the Games on the internet any time of the day. Many downtown Torontonians were interviewed and said they plan on watching the Olympics online while at work. As employees access the Olympics online at work businesses should be cautious. Businesses may not be equipped to handle the online traffic. If businesses have a single link for internet usage there may be significant slowdowns or even crashes. As a result, businesses may not have access to e-mail or the ability to send messages to clients.
