Our New Postcard: Wellergize + Pragmos Consulting
EmployeeCounselling.ca - Employee Assistance Programs

Preview the latest postcard and get some facts on EAPs

The latest installment in our postcard marketing campaign has just gone to print. They should be here and ready for mailing sometime in the next 2 weeks. The focus: the Employee Assistance Programs available through our development partner, Pragmos Consulting/EmployeeCounselling.ca

(Normally this would just be marketing process, but we've apparently touched a nerve with our innovative line of postcards. I blame Mark ;-) His graphics really are awesome. It has led to companies actually asking us to send them marketing materials!)

Work Stress may not always be about stress, but it still affects your organization

Employee Assistance Programs

Most 'work stress' isn't actually about the work. But employee problems with inter-personal relationships, too many demands on their time, and substance abuse still affect your bottom line.

A March 2005 Ipsos Reid survey found that the top employee stressors were actually:

  • Personal Growth and Maturation Issues;
  • Relationships at Work and Outside;
  • Family issues;
  • Parenting issues;
  • Finance issues; and
  • Substance abuse.

It isn't as if there is a magic threshold at the office door where the effects of what is happening at home are magically shed. Stress is additive: what happens in the office affects how people respond to stressors at home, and what happens at home affect attitudes toward coworkers, tasks, and even the physical environment.

Everyone needs a way to let off steam. A friendly ear and solid advice from a trained and neutral third-party whose focus is on helping them find ways to cope with the pressures in their lives is key. Employee Assistance Programs provide this service for your employees on an as-needed basis.

For businesses in Canada, we have partnered with Pragmos Consulting and the Therapy Canada Network to provide an alternative to traditional Employee Assistance Programs. Developed with a "pay for play" model, EmployeeCounselling.ca makes it affordable for smaller businesses to offer their employees mental health services. Additionally, the Graduated Co-Pay System allows the employee to slowly take ownership of the relationship with the therapist and the underlying issue. It also has no restiction on that employee working with a the therapist of their choice once the employer-paid number of sessions has been reached (as is common with traditional EAP).
