Addicted to networking at workplace? The role social networking sites play in
organizational functioning.
Social networking sites, they are creeping up everywhere. Twitter and
Facebook some of the most popular social networking sites are being used by employees to discuss
workplace issues with colleagues. Kamal Karanth, MD, Kelly Services (a leading staffing company) says that nearly every employee is using some type of social networking site and they spend at least two to three hours weekly communicating through them. With the increasing popularity of social networking sites more and more corporations are creating and joining social networking sites. Organizations are using it as a feedback mechanism to fine tune policies, to satisfy employee needs, and to receive and incorporate input from employees.
