Poster: Physical Activity Challenge

  • Benefit of Physical Activity: 30 minutes of physical activity three times a week can help set you on the path to improved health. Benefits include better self-esteem, reduced stress, increased relaxation, and slowing the aging process.

  • Healthy Snacking: A well balanced diet of fruits and vegetables is an important step to healthy lifestyle; they contain vitamins, minerals, and fibre, which help to reduce your risk of obesity and high blood pressure. This poster shows simple ways you can add that extra bit of fruit and vegetable matter into your diet.

  • Stress Reduction: This poster has three components: Ways stress affects your life, tips for dealing with stressful activities, and Ten easy ways to alleviate the stress in your day.
  • First Aid in the Workplace: Tips and suggestions, featuring the Emergency Flow Chart.
  • Resiliency: We all know resilient people; people who can bounce back from anything. How can we learn the fundamental skills and coping mechanisms needed to become more resilient. Includes the "10 Key Inner Strengths that Build Resiliency" and the "18 Key Outer Strengths that Build Resiliency"
  • Laughter in the Workplace: Laughter is an excellent stress reduction tool. This poster focuses on the 9 Key Benefits of Laughter, 10 Ways to Add Laughter to Your Day, and "Appropriate Laughter is Healthy laughter." (preview poster)

Workplace Wellness Challenges

Workplace Wellness Challenges are fun ways to make people more conscious of the health effects of their behaviours and activities. From the basic premise that it takes 21 days to ingrain a new habit into your routine, our wellness challenges bring one aspect of health and wellness to the fore for a month.

Our workplace wellness challenges are available in both the original format and online as part of the new EmployeeWellness.ca initiative. There are 15 Challenges to keep your employees engaged and enthusiastic - some are month-specific, three are available year-round. Choice means there is always something appealing - and the seasonal ones mean it can't be put off until later.

  • 30 Minutes Physical Activity Challenge: "30 minutes" does not have to be "30 consecutive minutes". Track your physical activity during the day, and you may well find that you need only add a 10 minute walk to top up your levels.

  • 5 a Day Challenge: Get your daily fruit & vegetable requirements. Nutritionists recommend eating between 5 and 9 portions per day, where a "portion" is considered to be a half-cup of the cut fruit or vegetables, or a full cup of leafy greens.

  • Laughter Challenge: The Laughter Challenge invites participants to add more laughter to their daily lives.
  • Work-Life Balance Challenge: The Work-Life Balance Challenge invites participants to examine their lives and prioritize activities that will boost their overall sense of satisfaction.
